How to use your PS4 controller on a PC

Sony finally launched an official way to use a PlayStation 4 controller on a PC but there are some free alternatives

If you want to use your PS4 controller on a PC, both wire and wirelessly,  you can save some money on the official dongle by installing either InputMapper or DS4Windows. Either program emulates an Xbox Controller,  rendering all games compatible with a controller playable by the Sony Controller.

Audio pass-through does not work so far with these programs, an issue that’s been solved on the official dongle. However, the touchpad works as a PC touchpad.

I’ve used InputMapper 1.6 and so far the wireless input lag is not noticeable.
